How Long Before I Feel Better?

The most common question that many patients ask who are just starting chiropractic care is:  How long will this take?  The length of time that it takes for chiropractic patients to heal is dependent on many factors.

First of all, a chiropractor cannot possible undo many years of damage or disease in a few short weeks.  When a chiropractor tells you how long it might take to reach maximum correction.  The answer is based on many considerations.  First, the chiropractor will assess you using exams and diagnostic tests to determine the extent of damage to your spine and nerve system.  Secondly, the chiropractor will compare the experience that he/she has had with other patients with similar spinal and nerve system problem.  Thirdly, the chiropractor will have to consider your particular characteristics:  your age,  the number of traumas you have sustained, your genetics, your general health, your diet, and your stress level.

The number of weeks, months or years of healing experience will be vastly different from one patient to another.  However, the best answer to the length of healing is to be patient.  Healing always takes time.
